Ideas International Launches Online Server Consolidation Analysis Resource (Server CAR) and Carbon Calculator

Australian company, Ideas International (ASX:IDE) yesterday launched web-based tools to help companies consolidate IT infrastructure to significantly minimize electricity usage and associated costs, and reduce carbon footprints. The Carbon Calculator is a new offering, introduced as part of a newly enhanced, web-based IT industry database and analysis tool, Server Consolidation Analysis Resource (Server CAR), at the ICT Sustainable Futures Forum in Melbourne.

The fully integrated Carbon Calculator takes the analysis a step further, and calculates current and proposed electricity costs and savings, CO2 equivalent emissions and reductions, as well as carbon emissions and reductions. Results are provided in localized currency and units of measurement. Projects may be saved and recalled so the rolling totals of carbon savings can be calculated. This online tool can be deployed globally and its power can be leveraged across an entire enterprise.
